As more people have gotten into "extreme couponing," they stock up on items they can get for nearly nothing. That makes it tough in some areas to find certain things, said Amy Selleck, an Orlando mother of two who writes a blog about coupon use.
"It would help the people who aren't extreme couponers ... to be able to go in and get some detergent two days after the sale starts," she said.
Selleck said "there's going to be upset people" as a result of Publix's changes, but "I think it was within their right to be able to do that."
Cori Garavuso, an Orlando stay-at-home mom who saves more than $1,000 a month through coupons, said she is "kind of concerned about ... limiting the quantity of competitors' coupons. If they're going to change that, it just means more work for all of us."
That could lead to splitting up orders or taking separate shopping trips, she said.
