I had never heard of Matcha powder until I was asked to try it. First of all it is an Organic Green Tea powder that can be added to pretty much ANYTHING. From smoothies to brownies to protein shakes. If you can mix something, you can add this to it. It has a very mild taste, but TONS of benefits!! (Note the ice cream recipe at the bottom!)
I tried this hoping to boost my mood (Pittsburgh is the land of no sun light and this Florida girls needs sunlight) and it did! No jitters like you get from drinking too much coffee, but just a calming and productive sense of energy.
Amazon has Organic Matcha for $25, which seems steep for a couponer but I have already placed an order for a second bag. I think it is worth it!
ALL DAY ENERGY WITH INCREASED FOCUS

METABOLISM BOOST
Consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body's own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expediture.
IMPROVED SKIN HEALTH
Scientists have discovered that Matcha Green Tea helps protect the skin from harmful UVrays, while improving blood flow and oxygen levels lifting the overall quality of the skin.
137x THE ANTIOXIDANTS OF BREWED GREEN TEA
Antioxidants are essential as you age to boost your body's natural defenses against oxidation. Researchers have found that a high level of dietary antioxidants can prevent many age-related diseases.
