Chore Responsibility Chart
Materials Needed:
  • Poster Board, 12 x 16 inches
  • 4 pieces of colored construction paper, different colors
  • Scissors or pinking shears
  • White glue
  • 8 1/2 x 11 inch white paper - 1 piece
  • Ruler
  • Construction paper
  • Tape
  • Star and letter stickers
  • Markers

Step 1
Cut each piece of construction paper into 6 x 8 inch pieces.

Step 2
Glue each piece of construction paper on the poster board, making sure to cover the entire piece of poster board.

Step 3
Glue 8 1/2 x 11 piece of white paper on top of and in the middle of the four pieces of construction paper.

Step 4
Using a ruler, draw eight vertical lines down the right half of the white paper, making seven columns.
Using a ruler can help introduce basic math skills.

Step 5
Using a marker, add the initials of the week, (S,M,T,W, etc.) to the very top of each column.

Step 6
Cut construction paper into 8 strips, 4 x 1 inch each.

Step 7
Tape the 8 strips of construction paper down the left side of the paper, approximately 1 inch apart.

Step 8
Print the chore category and chores on construction paper strips (see picture).

Step 9
To decorate, add stickers and encouraging words to chart.

Step 10
Use star stickers to track your child's daily participation in household chores. Provide a reward for jobs well done.
