I was going to do this last week.. but with all that has gone on it is no surprise that I just never found the time. Well here ya go... There are a handful of coupons that expire 3/31/12 but most are for eggs or Luden's cough drops, some sleep aid and Triple Wash... so you can pretty much toss out ALL of your inserts through the end of last year. Wow.. that felt good!

Is it a good rule of thumb to keep 2-3 months worth of inserts? Thanks for posting this!! :)
posting again since I forgot to request to be notified of updates!
Well some of the HIGH VALUE money maker coupons for things you might not need or use very often will be farther back than that. think seasonal things - You may get a high value coupon at the end of the season... and it doesnt expire until things go on sale at the very early start of the next season. I think 6 months, personally.
When I say seasonal, I dont mean things like cadbury eggs and pool floats, but youd be surprised at things you CAN save on or even make money on, but are only available (or in huge stock) 6 months out of the year.
You do find that most of the coupons you are pulling from do come the past 2-3 months though.
So for a regular couponer, it may be perfectly fine to only keep 2-3 months worth... but it would sure suck to throw out something and the very next week see it on sale.
Manufacturers know when their coupons are about to expire and sometimes have sale at the end of that coupon thinking you forgot about it.
It's all a game :)
