Step 1 Cut each piece of construction paper into 6 x 8 inch pieces. Step 2 Glue each piece of construction paper on the poster board, making sure to cover the entire piece of poster board. Step 3 Glue 8 1/2 x 11 piece of white paper on top of and in the middle of the four pieces of construction paper. Step 4 Using a ruler, draw eight vertical lines down the right half of the white paper, making seven columns. Using a ruler can help introduce basic math skills. Step 5 Using a marker, add the initials of the week, (S,M,T,W, etc.) to the very top of each column. Step 6 Cut construction paper into 8 strips, 4 x 1 inch each. Step 7 Tape the 8 strips of construction paper down the left side of the paper, approximately 1 inch apart. Step 8 Print the chore category and chores on construction paper strips (see picture). Step 9 To decorate, add stickers and encouraging words to chart. Step 10 Use star stickers to track your child's daily participation in household chores. Provide a reward for jobs well done. |
