Prescriptions - 101

Everyone wants to save money on prescriptions, here is how.
Transfer. Transfer. Transfer.

This morning I had to go refill my synthroid and my T3 before we leave for our vacation. (It is a whole new world trying to figure out how to live on pills you must take forever. I am glad I checked how mnay I had left or I would have been SOL!)

I found an old letter from CVS that wasn't dated but said that I could transfer 2 prescriptions and get (2) $25 Gift Cards. PERFECT! My total was $50.13. I got $50 in CVS gift cards which I will use to roll Extra Care Bucks for the next... forever. And I technically spent $.13.

Now... next month, I will transfer them to Walgreens and I will get a $25 gift check (not as great of a deal.) I will have to use the entire $25 in one transaction... I WILL roll it into Register Rewards, but it will be a PITA because instead of doing a bunch of little transactions whenever I find a deal, I will have to plan a way to get as much as I can with coupons to get RRs back and spend exactly $25 (exactly or I lose it.)

The next month, maybe Winn Dixie where I will get a $10 gift card.. or maybe Kmart for a $10 gift card, or maybe back to CVS and use those gift cards I got today... who knows.

There is also something else I found today that is pretty cool. A website that tells you what stores near you have the cheapest prescriptions! MedTipster is free and it will compare prices of prescription medications in your area! I havent tested it out for myself on all the medicines we have had prescriptions for, but I am bookmarking it for later! (Ugh just tested it and it defaults to the generic medication which I am not supposed to get until my TSH levels are fixed.... grrr.)
