I'm a little annoyed....

Out of the past 4 weeks I have gotten 2 El Sentinels.

Now, if you have a single subscription to the Orlando Sentinel (and you can get 6 until Thursday July 21st when it switches to just 4 per household) you can get a single El Sentinel delivered to you on Saturday mornings. Which is GREAT! It has a full set of coupons... the same coupons you are going to get in your 6 subscriptions on Sunday. And while that doesnt seem like a big deal that they have missed me a few times... (I have gotten it a total of twice.. ever) I actually only have 5 subscriptions so that I get an even number of coupon inserts to file...

I really do have them on speed dial. I just HATE to complain. HATE IT! But I want my coupon inserts.

BTW, order HERE before Thursday! The paper is still on sale for $21.07 for 13 weeks of Wednesday-Sunday PLUS you get a $10 Publix Gift Card. So it is like you are paying $11.07 for 13 weeks of inserts... and a lot of Casey headlines. I'm so glad that is almost over! I'm thinking of putting my Casey Anthony papers on ebay in a few months... about the time her book or movie comes out. What do you think?

Publix - Almost free Coffee and cookies

I went to Publix this week, of course.

I got 8 bags of 8 O'clock coffee BOGO $4.99
used 4 - Save $2 off any TWO Bags of Eight O’Clock  Coffee
And there is a sign in front of them that says to ask cashier for coupon for free Milano cookies (up to $3.49)!

(4 x 4.99) + (8 x 3.49) = 19.96 + 27.92 = $47.88
Used a $5/$30 Publix coupon

Total before coupons - $47.88
minus coffee coupons ($8) and minus the cookie coupons ($27.92)
Total = 11.96 for 8 packs of coffee and 8 packs of cookies or $.74 per item!

Considering you normally spend $5 a bag of coffee, you just bought 2 and got 6 bags of coffee free and 8 packs of cookies!

Of course you don't have to buy so many!

There is an interesting twist to printing the coupon.

First of all there is a $1/2 Bic pen coupon at coupons .com
Target has the pens this week for $.50 a pack

Total = 2 packs of FREE 10 count Packages of Bic Cristal Pens

However, in order to print the coupon correctly, you need to print another coupon too... any coupon. If you don't then the pen coupon takes up the whole page, prints at the end of the page and doesnt completely print on only 1 page. I dont think you can tape the 2 pages together to use the coupon either. BUT if there are 2 coupons that you are printing, it prints fine. And you get your pens for free!

Donating - So you have your stockpile, now what?

Sales come in cycles. You may be able to get 8 o'clock coffee on BOGO for $4.99 with $1 coupons PLUS get free cookies... but that deal isnt going to stick around. So you stockup on the coffee you need for the next 6 months and then you hit the next cycle.

But what do you do when pasta and sauce goes on sale and you get the pasta for free and the sauce for $1 a jar every month? You donate the older items to people who need them NOW!

A few of you have commented on how many cereal boxes I have, how much dressing I have, how many whatever I have.... Well, it's simple. When I end up with more than I will use in the amount of time the cycle runs, I donate it. I normally take reusable bags full of items to my church or the Beta House for Women, but sometimes I get lucky and get contacted by someone who knows I do this and I get to help a family in need.

Saturday I get to donate to a real live family. That excites me!!! I don't want to share details, being in need is extremely humbling. But when I was 19 and on my own (for 2 years) and in college, riding my bike to school and work (at a daycare for $5.25 an hour) one of my baby's mothers asked me (in secret, thank God) if she could bring over some groceries.... (I wasn't looking so hot) I cried. She brought over enough groceries for a week or more. I told her I could never repay her and she told me, "When you are able, help someone else." I am proud to say I have done that many times and I continue to. And I will continue to! It makes me feel so happy to know that I am able to do something!

 This is our main pantry... Baby foods and snack on the bottom, along with coffee, noodles, rice, frosting and a few random unorganized things. Middle shelf has condiments, mustard, BBQ, dressing, snacks, pretzels, junk food in the baskets and oatmeat in the corner that you cant see. Top shelf has ziploc bags, tin foil and saran wrap in the left hand corner, cans in back, packet meals and rice boxed in front, jellos, joint juice and Crystal light on the right hand side.

 Toilet paper, games, juice. The freezer holds the meat we buy in bulk (currently is houses 1500 ounces of milk, about half of which I need to donate to Get Pumped) we also once had 40 bags of cheese.. mmmm!! That is long gone :-(

 Household items like detergent, paper towels, damp rid up top. Next row down toothpaste, tooth brushes and other oral hygiene items, there are 4 boxes of razors around there and over a dozen cans of tomatoes. The green bag on the left is full of vitamins, all free. The white bag under it is full of makeup both samples and full size. There is a full shelf of medicines gotten for free and under that a bajillion candles, we keep them lit in the kitchen. The 2 bottom shelves - dog treats and then in front of that baby formula samples and free cans.

 That shelf in the middle has feminine products up top and some more detergent crystals. The next one down has body washes and shave creams. the next one down kitchen soaps, the next is ALL shampoo and conditioner. Next one down is light bulbs and the cabinet below is all cleaning supplies.

This WAS 40 boxes of cereal a month ago. Now there are about 25. I told ya, we use it! There are also now 10 boxes of Ritz.. those wont last.

ALERT - Major Changes to Orlando Sentinel

PLEASE READ:
Oh I am SO sad!!! I just got this email from my affiliate manager:

It was just brought to my attention that as of July 21st 2011 the Orlando Sentinel will be adding a premium to multiple subscriptions.So effective this date MyOrlandoSentinel.com will be changing to this policy.  We asked why and they said that multiples are a risk as no one knows that the recourse that could be in a few months if advertisers refuse to advertise in the multiples, an they want to keep couponing alive in Central Florida. So we wanted to give you a heads up and let you know how this is going to play out.

The price for 1 subscription will remain at the current price of $1.63 a week for a Wednesday - Sunday subscription.  If 2 papers are ordered the price jumps up to $1.75 per paper. If 3 are ordered is changes to $1.89 per paper and if 4 are ordered the cost per subscription goes to $1.96.

Im sure you noticed I stopped at 4 as that has also changed. The amount of multiple subscription per address is going to change from 6 to 4.

What does this mean to you? If you ever deamt of having 6 papers delievered to your house... you can, but only for 13 weeks as long as you order BEFORE July 21st!

If you go through THIS link - The total Out Of Pocket is $21.07, but you get a $10 Publix gift card. So you are really paying $11.07 for 13 weeks of papers. or $.85 a week. Today we spent an extra hour after Swim lessons playing in the pool. It is so awesome to see and KNOW that my 15 month old can swim after only 3 weeks! The extra tim ein the pool was supposed to wear him out.. and it did. He fell asleep on the way home and was in his crib for 20 minutes before he woke up VERY HUNGRY! I nursed him and he fell back to sleep, I printed off a few last coupons and darted out the door telling the hubby to feed him cheese and veggies when he woke up.
