You want FREE?! I got your free right here

So far this week I have received 7 freebies from Walmart's samples. Sure I could post them individually, but I'm not going to just yet. Maybe later on down the road.

Until then, check out this site and sign up for the things you want to try!

Fees that could be avoided

I had the whole plan written out. I would stop by the library to pay my $3 late fee, it was now $5.50. Other than the fact we already pay taxes for our libraries, I don't mind so much paying the late fee here, of all the books I have read this summer, $5.50 is pretty cheap.

CVS
- Aquafresh Iso-action (er something) toothpaste was regularly 4.99, on sale for 3.99. I had a store coupon for $1.50 (printed out last time I bought something there) and a manufacturer coupon for $1.00. Total $1.75 BUT I got a RR (Register Rebate) for $2.00 to use on the next purchase... so they basically paid me .25 to take it.

Publix - after clipping coupons from the 5 papers I bought Sunday & 2 more sets from neighbors, I decided to hit Publix again for more juice. The first Publix had V8 Splash B1G1 for 3.69... um no, I will venture to my Cheap Publix. At Cheap Publix it was B1G1 for $2.07. I bought 16 bottles of V8 Splash (8 coupons for $1 off 2), my Raw Cane sugar (1.99), 2 packs of mushrooms (2/$3.00), Coffee Mate Creamer (1.89, used a .50 coupon), 2 boxes of Sun Crystals - for my guest not me (1.99 each, 2 $2.00 coupons = .02 overage), and 2 - 4oz Glade Candles (3.41 each, 2 $3.00 coupons.) Total spent- $17.26, Total saved- 40.24 ...... I thought I had hit my $50 mark so that I could use a $10 off $50 coupon from Winn-Dixie... I could have gotten 4 more candles, spending only $1.62 more to save $10 more, but I added wrong and there was already someone behind me. I seriously could have had all that for less than $12. DANG IT! I hate when I do that.

Then I stopped by Walgreens to pick up the copies of our 1 year pics! I can't wait to post them! They are great!

I love my mailman

I love days where the mail box is more full of free stuff than bills!

Today there were 4 WalMart samples! There was a box of Kaski Go-Lean cereal, Cheerio cereal, Fancy Feast appetizer (since when did a cat need an appetizer? I am not waiting around on a dang one of them to finish it so that I can "serve them dinner" chyeahhh. No.) and a vile of Burt's Bees acne solution. I've always wanted to coat my face in honey, and now I can do it for free in an overpriced "solution!" OF course if it actually works I am in trouble... rather my pocketbook is.

I'm not sure why WalMart gives away free samples, I'm not even really sure where to look for them, but Amy always posts them, so I figure, "It's free, why not." Great way to try stuff out or get a free bit of something we already use.

Today's Savings

So I have yet to figure out what the theme of this blog will be, but seeing as there are no readers yet, it doesn't really matter. Today I hit 2 stores before and after church.

CVS - SPENT: $5.18 SAVED: $21.87 BOUGHT: 3 Newspapers ($3 - gotta restock those coupons!), 2 Crest Pro-Health toothpastes, 1 RightGuard Deodorant, 2 DryIdea Deodorants - 7 Transactions between 2 CVS cards

WALGREENS - SPENT: $20.66 SAVED: $67.50 BOUGHT: 2 Newspapers ($2), 10 Oral B Indicator Toothbrushes, 2-4oz Glade Vanilla Candles, 2-4pack Bic Soleil Razors, 8 Aussie Shampoos and Conditioners, 6 Gourmet Lollipops - 13 Transactions

The manager at Walgreens actually CUT ME OFF! "We don't get another shipment in until next week and we want other people to be able to buy these things."Whatever.. onto the next one tomorrow, I guess.

The garage sale I had Friday/Saturday from 7am-12noon (10 hours total) I made 195$... and still have boxes upon boxes of CRAP to get rid of, drop off at the women's shelter, Craigslist and try to re-garage sale another day. OF THE QUICKEST SELLERS: toothbrushes for 50cents each (bought 2 for maybe 20cents at a time), New McCormick Grinders Seasonings for $1 each(normally 1.99, bought for free) and candles (sold for $1 each, bought for 19cents each). Almost forgot! Church has a rubbish sale in October... now THERE is a place I can drop off all the knick knacks I can't bear to trash!
